The facelift is probably the most familiar cosmetic surgery procedure and the one most individuals think of when they hear the phrase "cosmetic surgery."

Once exclusively a procedure for the rich and famous, now more and more of the mainstream population are appreciating that a facelift could help them look as good as they feel, too. Facelift patients experience minimal discomfort and are able to resume most normal activities and return to work after about two weeks. Most bruising can be concealed with make-up after just a few days. Exposure to direct sunlight should be avoided for two to three months after surgery, and a good sunblock should always be used for protection of the rejuvenated face.
