Cellulite Treatment (Cellulaze) in Virginia Beach

Are you frustrated that you can't get rid of cellulite, no matter how hard you try? Here's a fact that may surprise you: Cellulite is actually caused by factors outside your control. Many believe it's a fat problem, which can be addressed through diet and exercise. But fat isn't the only culprit. Cellulite is a structural problem below the skin. While you may have tried every cellulite treatment possible, you've never had a way to treat the very structure of cellulite. Until now.

Dr. Ben Hugo is an expert provider of Cellulaze, the only cellulite treatment that attacks the structural problems beneath the skin that cause cellulite. A minimally invasive, laser-assisted procedure performed by a qualified physician, such as plastic surgeon Dr. Ben Hugo, Cellulaze is a new cellulite treatment clinically proven to increase your skin's natural thickness for a smoother, healthier look that lasts. All of this from just one simple cellulite treatment.

What is Cellulaze Cellulite Treatment?

Cellulaze is the first FDA-approved, minimally invasive cellulite treatment that targets both the fat and the connective tissue that encase it. Using a special wavelength and a side firing laser fiber, the lumps of protruding fat beneath the skin are made smaller and the connective tissue is released to decrease the appearance of skin dimpling and irregularity. All is performed in the safety of our expert-provider office site.

If you have tried diet, exercise and the myriad of creams to get rid of cellulite and are serious about wanting to improve your appearance, now is the time for the treatment that attacks the very structure of cellulite.

Is a Cellulaze Cellulite Treatment Right for Me?

Aging, hormones, genetics and dramatic weight changes can all play a role in the appearance of cellulite. These factors can cause connective tissue bands under the skin to stiffen and the fat cells they surround to become larger and push up into the skin at any age and create the "cottage cheese" effect you wish you could eliminate, which is even easier to see in patients with thin skin.

You can't control these factors, regardless of how many miles you run or salads you eat, but you can control how you treat cellulite. Many other cellulite treatments focus on cellulite superficially, applying treatment above the skin. Only Cellulaze treats the fibrous bands beneath the skin, while also thickening and adding elasticity to the skin.

The Cellulite Treatment Procedure and Recovery

We perform Cellulaze procedures in our fully equipped state-of-the-art outpatient operating suite, certified to the highest standards by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF), located within Dr. Hugo's office in Virginia Beach. Because the area to be treated is numbed with local anesthesia, there is little discomfort during the procedure. Following a Cellulaze cellulite treatment, you may experience some aches, much like after a physical workout.

Preoperatively, Dr. Hugo will ask you to stand while he marks you with a pen to determine exactly where the cellulite will be removed. If a small area is being treated, then the procedure can be done under local anesthesia with an oral sedative. If you require multiple areas of treatment or a large area, the procedure can be done either under a very light general anesthetic or under light intravenous sedation where you are asleep and do not remember anything-very similar to when you have a colonoscopy or wisdom tooth extraction. Light sedation or anesthesia is administered by board-certified anesthetists to ensure comfort and achieve optimal results. The cellulite treatment process will typically proceed as follows:

First, fluid containing local anesthetic is injected into the areas of desired treatment. This is known as a "super wet" or "tumescent" solution (a combination of normal saline, epinephrine to minimize blood loss and lidocaine to numb the area).

Next, an External Ultrasound Assist device is applied to the surface of the skin for a few minutes. This non-invasive technology helps to diffuse the local anesthetic fluid that has been injected, providing a smoother contour and therefore more precision during the cellulite treatment. It also potentiates the action of the local anesthetic and the epinephrine to help reduce bruising.

Tiny incisions are made in the areas requiring treatment. A tiny laser wand (cannula) about the size of the tip of a pen is inserted beneath the skin to treat the areas of cellulite. On average, this cellulite treatment will take one to two hours. This is dependent on the size of the areas to be treated. Results are achieved with just one Cellulaze cellulite treatment. Your results will continue to improve over the next six to 12 months.
